Fred J. Yoder

Fred J. Yoder, 80, of Fond du Lac, WI, died Thursday, May 21, 2026 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born July 17, 1945 in Iowa City, IA, the son of John Dayle and Helen Ruth (Durian) Yoder.

Fred grew up on a Registered Guernsey Dairy Farm in rural Johnson County, Iowa, where he excelled in judging and showing purebred Guernsey cows through 4-H at multiple local and state fairs throughout the Midwest. He graduated from Mid Prairie High School in Wellman, IA in 1963. He earned his Bachelors Degree from University of Iowa College of Business and was a Certified Public Accountant. Fred served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

His career in finance included, McGladrey CPAs in Cedar Rapids, IA, Amana Society in Amana, IA, Pfieler and Associates in Cedar Rapids, IA, Swiss Valley Ag Services in Mount Joy, IA, Grande Cheese in Brownsville, WI, and Mexican Cheese Group in Monroe, WI.

Fred volunteered on the board of the Fond du Lac Literacy Program and finances for Community Methodist Church in North Fond du Lac. He was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears fan. Fred enjoyed traveling and sailing on over 50 cruises with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Maxine (Meyer) Yoder whom he met during college. They were married in Washington, IA on September 9, 1967. The remaining family include two daughters, Alison (Paul) Valentine of Geneva, IL and Andrea (John) Archambo of Neenah, WI; four grandchildren, J.P. Valentine, Nathan Valentine, Max Archambo, and Olivia Archambo; two siblings, Terry (Kelly) Yoder of Kalona, IA and Lorna (Rich) Yoder of Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 from 10:00 – 1:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church, 120 Sheboygan Street in Fond du Lac. The memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM on Friday at church, with military honors. Internment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Joetown, IA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
