George A. "Jack" Basler

George A. "Jack" Basler, 84, formerly of 20 N. Royal Avenue, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at his residence at St. Francis Terrace. He was born March 8, 1921, in Fond du Lac, a son of George F. and Josephine Loehr Basler. On June 16, 1945, he married Patricia A. Ottery in Fond du Lac. Mr. Basler was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Louis Church, and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #664, where he was a 3rd Degree Knight. George farmed on the family farm until 1959 when he went to Galloway West, and was employed for 30 years, retiring in 1986.Surviving is his wife, Patricia, a son, George J. (Kathleen) Basler of Neenah, a grandson, Scott (Stacie) Basler, a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Basler, all of Fond du Lac, twin grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley Basler, at home in Neenah, two great-grandchildren, Lily Rose Basler and Ethan Basler, four sisters-in-law, Natalie Basler of Fond du Lac, Esther Basler of Racine, Marge (Jim) Baldauf of Fond du Lac, and Alice Immel of Dotyville, two brothers-in-law, Tom (Jane) Ottery of Fond du Lac, and Jerry (Louise) Ottery of Armstrong, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Carol Basler in 1965, two sisters, Marie Brenner and Alice Pipping, two brothers, Ralph and Edward Basler, his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Ethel Coyne Ottery, a sister-in-law, Mary Ottery, and three brothers-in-law, Leo Brenner, Reinhold Pipping, and Gordon Immel.



Visitation for Mr. George A. "Jack" Basler will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, from 3 to 6 pm at Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6 pm on Wednesday at the church with the Rev. John Radetski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
