Glen A. “Butch” Hoople, 62, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 14, 1963, to Glen and Molly (Key) Hoople.
Butch was an avid sports fan, and a collector of sports memorabilia especially when it came to baseball. He earned his doctorate in sarcasm, and for over two decades, bartended at Oscars, and later at the Breakroom.
Survivors include his three daughters, Ashley Hoople of Milwaukee, Megan Hoople (fiancé Aaron DeVries) of Waterloo, IA, and Kelsey Hoople of Fond du Lac; his mother, Molly (Lee) Portman, formerly Hoople, of Fond du Lac; his step-mother, Lois Hoople of Ladysmith, WI; his sister, Connie (Joe) Murray; step-siblings, Mark McEathron, John McEathron, Paul (Jan) McEathron, Brenda Jones, Becky Jones, and Barbara Jones; four nieces, nine great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece. Butch is further survived by the mother of his children and wife of 36 years, Jan; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by many extended family members.
A celebration of Butch’s life will be held from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Eagles Aerie #270, 515 North Park Avenue in Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Avina of Fond du Lac, the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, and St. Agnes Hospital for the care given and compassion shown to Butch.
