Grace E. Day

Grace E. Day, age 83, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 27, 2025, at Violet Meadows in Fond du Lac. She was born on May 16, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Ralph and Gwen (Gordon) Summers. On September 18, 1965, she married Raymond J. Day at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2009. Together they have two children, Julie and Ralph. Grace worked at the Elks Club much of her working life. Grace worked hard her entire life and always had a smile on her face, even through the hard times. Grace was like a social butterfly, she loved being around family and friends. She also loved to garden, watch Christmas movies, collect knick knacks (especially glass shoes), and decorate for the holidays.

Grace enjoyed her final years at Violet Meadows where she moved to the day before covid hit in 2020. Grace loved being involved in all the activities at Violet Meadows. I can’t say enough kind words about the staff at Violet Meadows who showed my mom love and support. I also can’t say enough about the nurses from St. Croix Hospice. Even in her final days the staff at Violet Meadows and St. Croix showed Grace so much love, respect, and care.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Julie Day-Willey (Bob); grandchildren, Levi Willey, Matthew Willey, Cassy Porter, and Dylan Day; great-grandchildren, Amara Grace and Camden Porter; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Gwen Summers; her husband, Raymond J. Day; her son, Ralph; her brother, Byron; her sisters, Kathleen and Patricia.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
