Harold H. "Bud" Gongorek

Harold H. "Bud" Gongorek, 97 of Town of Friendship, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Hope. Harold was born in Fond du Lac on May 14, 1914 the son of Stanley and Dora Mateske Gongorek. He was a graduate of North Fond du Lac High School and attended vocational school in Fond du Lac. On June 12, 1937 he married Esther Hintz in North Fond du Lac. Esther preceded him in death on January 1, 1997. Harold worked for Quick Freeze as service manager for 26 years. He was later employed with Giddings & Lewis as a machinist for 18 years retiring in 1980. Harold was a life-long member of Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du La. He served on Fond du Lac County Board for 10 years, President of the Catholic School Board in North Fond du Lac, Civil Defense, commodore of the Fond du Lac Outboard Motor Club and the G& L Trap Shooting team and was a original member of the West Shore Gun Club.SURVIVORS: two daughters, Dianne (Thomas) Miller, Fond du Lac, and Linda (Richard)Behnke, Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Scott (Tabitha) Miller, Fond du Lac, Tracie (Dan) Steiner, Sugarland, TX, Andrew (Jennifer) Miller, North Fond du Lac, Lori (Edward) Hoffmann, Van Dyne, Paul Schmitz, Fond du Lac, Melissa (Kyle) Chapman, Van Dyne, thirteen great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Ronald, one grandson and a sister Evelyn Parish.



FUNERAL: At Harold's request private family visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
