James Arthur Benzel

James Arthur Benzel, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2022, from a heart attack. Jim was born on December 11, 1960, the son of Arthur Benzel and Dorothy Benzel Kurth. Jim was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy. He worked for many years hanging drywall until the business was sold. Jim was now working at O’Reilly Auto Parts. Jim loved to have a good time with friends and was great at shooting pool.



Jim is survived by his three children, Sarah Benzel, Jenny (Chris) Schultz, and Christopher Rosenthal; stepson, Sean Sippel; five grandchildren, Isabelle, Dominic, Yazmin, Conner, and Rylee. He is further survived by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Robert Kurth; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Brent Bergstrom; step-sister and brother-in-law, Gaile and Joel Schoepke; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and aunts and uncles.



Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 5-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
