James L. Jorgensen, 79, of Fond du lac, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on March 16, 1943, in Fond du Lac, the son of Fred and Eva (Schwartz) Jorgensen. James attended Roosevelt Jr. High and St. Peters Lutheran School. On October 20, 1995, he married Virginia Velasco in Fond du Lac. James worked for C.D. Smith and Giddings and Lewis as a carpenter for 43 years until his retirement. He was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. No one left the house with an empty stomach or empty pockets.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two children, Tracy (Mark) McCullough of Tennessee and Carla Fahrner of Wausau; nine grandchildren, Monica, Mitch, Molly, Joshua, Amanda, Joe, Zach, Joshua, and Cayden; three great grandchildren, Audrina, Lilliana, and Caden; four step children, Melissa Nelson, Patricia (Pat) Sokolik, Lori Nelson, and Deborah (Chuck) Kluza; four step grandchildren, Sienna, Quinn, Dante and Dawson; five step great great grandchildren, Connor, Delyilah, Natalia, Louie and George; brother, Gordon (Eleanor) Jorgensen; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Jeffrey, Troy and Jay Jorgensen; and two sisters, Jackie and Edie.
Private family burial will take place at Estabrooks Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
