James "Jim" D. Van Grunsven

James “Jim” D. Van Grunsven, 66, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, May 10, 2026 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born February 21, 1960 in Green Bay, the son of David and Carol (Janssen) Van Grunsven. Jim graduated from Abbot Pennings High School in De Pere and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College.

On October 23, 1993 he married Susan K. Kollmorgan at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. He began his teaching career at Holy Name Catholic School in Kimberly for three years and then taught at Waters Elementary until his retirement in January of 2020.

Jim enjoyed golfing, traveling, was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; three sons, Brian (Abby) Wilson, Kevin (Chrissy) Wilson, and Jake Van Grunsven; four grandchildren, Carter, Frances, Molly, and Maddie; one brother, Paul (Carmel) Van Grunsven; two sisters, Mary Barthels and Kris (Mike) Carpenter; his father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Jewel Kollmorgan; three sisters-in-law, Nancy (Rick) Koeck, Betty (Bill) Donovan, and Mary (Ned) Sippel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Ken Kollmorgan; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

The visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2026 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the traditional services and burial will be held in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
