Jean M. Halfman, 91, of Fond du Lac, peacefully passed away on earth and entered eternal life on January 26, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side. Jean was born in the city of Fond du Lac on October 24, 1934, to Sylvia (Arenz) and William Freund. She graduated from St Mary’s Springs Academy in 1954.
On December 26, 1958, Jean married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Halfman, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, spending 61 loving years together while raising four beautiful children. Robert preceded her in death on July 25, 2020.
Jean and Bob enjoyed spending time with their family going to Packers games, eating out, and traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Jean also loved to shop with her three daughters and took yearly trips to Door County. She most enjoyed singing and dancing, as she was well known for her famous jitterbug moves, which she demonstrated during her 90th birthday party!
Her true devotion was to her family. Her unwavering love to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was unmatched. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and created memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. She was so proud of each and every one of them.
Jean is survived by her four children, Daniel (Mary) Halfman, Colleen Halfman, Holly (Matt) Ford, Tracy (Darryl) Peters; her eight grandchildren Molly (Adam Borek) Halfman, Mackenzie (Joey Michels) Halfman, Maggie Halfman, Zachary Ford, Adam Ford (Rob Reyes), Taylor Ford, Jason (Kristin Merryfield) Peters, and Sylvia Peters (Trevor Jensema). Two great grandchildren, Makai and Bodhi Borek, were a gift from God.
Also surviving are Jean’s brothers-in-law Richard Halfman, Michael (Judith) Halfman, sisters-in-law Mary Heimerman, Judith McKenna, Maureen Halfman, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jean in death are her husband Robert, her parents Sylvia and William Freund, her brother Robert Freund, sisters Geraldine (Robert) Anderson and Leila (Al) Gene, her in-laws Luella and Harold Halfman, Tom Halfman, Carol Halfman, Howard Heimerman and Charlotte Halfman.
Jean will be remembered by her affectionate smile and the kindness she showed to others throughout her life. She will be dearly missed.
Private family services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fond du lac, with burial to follow in Rienzi Cemetery.
