Jeffrey B. Hansen, age 77, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation.
Jeff was born on May 31, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Irving G. and Elizabeth P. Hansen (née Brown). He graduated from Kenosha Tremper High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Mons, Belgium, for three years.
After his military service, Jeff returned to Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 1975. He went on to dedicate nearly three decades to teaching in Oakfield, Wisconsin, where he also coached various sports and mentored countless students until his retirement in 2004.
Jeff married Jacqueline Chapman Conger on August 1, 1980 and they made their home in Byron, Wisconsin, where they lived for 36 years. Jeff was a passionate sports fan and could always be found cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks. He was an avid reader and a devoted member of Bethel United Church of Christ, where he served on the church council for many years. He was also an active member of the Byron Historical Society, reflecting his deep appreciation for community and history.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jackie Hansen; his stepdaughter, Kim (Mitch) Loomans; and grandchildren, Danny Loomans and Sydney Loomans. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Lloyd (Joan) Chapman; sisters-in-law, Doris Hansen and Mindy Hansen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Elizabeth; and his brothers, Chris, Eric, and Tim.
The visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held in Bethel Cemetery at a later date.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation, especially the SNUG Unit for their compassionate care and support for Jeff the last three years.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Jeff’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, Byron Historical Society, or Bethel UCC.
Jeff will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to education, his love of sports, his service to his community, and the warmth and kindness he shared with all who knew him.
