Jerome “Jerry” J. Moser, 87, a resident of Hesperia, California, died unexpectedly on April 26, 2026. Jerry was born on August 19, 1938, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Delores (Lewis) and Carl Moser. He grew up in Fond du Lac where he was a boy scout and member of the Holy Name Society. Jerry graduated high school from St Mary’s Spring Academy. A veteran of the US Air Force, Jerry joined shortly after high school and served as a weather observer. After serving in the Air Force and completing his bachelor’s degree, Jerry relocated to southern California where he would live throughout his life. He worked for the City of Gardena Police Department and Vons grocery for over 30 years. While working and raising a family, Jerry also earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Jerry was committed to his lifelong friendships and enjoyed being out and about attending dances and socials. Throughout his life, Jerry was an avid collector of model trains, dedicating many hours to building intricate train layouts for himself, his family and others to enjoy. A big part of his love of model trains is reflected in his affiliation with the Toy Train Operating Society of California where he was a committed and valued member for over 50 years.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Sharon Bell of Manitowoc, WI, his 3 children, Lynnette Moser of Louisiana, Steven (Emmie) Moser of North Carolina, and Jana (Jo) Moore of Virginia, and six grandsons (Cade, Iiran, Ayden, Shintarou, Nathan, Leithen).
Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Mary (Moser) Therkelsen, brother-in-law and childhood friend Tim Therkelsen, brother Richard (in infancy), and his two beloved cats (Calico and Chessie).
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 11:00 AM. Jerry will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery next to his sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, Tim, following the service.
