Jill Catherine Vavra, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Jill was the kind of person who noticed when someone else was struggling and stepped in without hesitation. She gave freely, cared deeply, and carried an instinctive desire to make life a little easier for the people around her. What she rarely shared was the weight she carried herself. Jill was someone who would help anyone who needed it, even when she couldn’t help herself. Her kindness was limitless, her heart wide open, and her love for family and friends unwavering.
Jill found joy in helping children and devoted much of her time to making sure they felt supported and valued. She headed an initiative to ensure every child had the school supplies they needed, believing no kid should start the year at a disadvantage. Around Christmastime, she donated hundreds of toys each year so that every child in the community could feel the magic and warmth of the season. Her generosity shaped countless young lives and left a lasting imprint on the community she loved.
Jill is survived by her siblings, Jenni (John) Dettman and John (Sandy) Vavra III, along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by dear friends, especially Tina Mueller, who held a special place in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Judy Vavra, and her sister, Jackie Vavra.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with a prayer of support to follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of Jill’s life will follow the service at The Main Pub, 241 S. Main St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935.
