Joan Mary Scanlon

Joan M. Scanlon, 86, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Fontida Adelaide Place, Fond du Lac. She was born on August 10, 1937, in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Ethel (Laughlin) Franick. Joan was a graduate of Riverside High School in Milwaukee. In 1960, she married James Herget and moved to Laguna Beach, CA, and later returned to Milwaukee in 1962. In 1986, Joan married Tom Scanlon and moved to Hull, MA. They later returned to Milwaukee. Joan was a clerical secretary throughout her working career. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, going to restaurants, movies, and crossword puzzles. 

She is survived by her son, James (Karyl); two grandchildren, Marshall (Haylee) and Kayla (Josh) Meinert; and sister, Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel; daughter, Christine; two husbands James and Tom; and four siblings, Tom, Rick, Jack, and Barbara. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
