Joyce A. Gross

Joyce A. Gross, 93, of Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at The Manor at the Meadows of Fond du Lac. She was born on November 23, 1932, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Edwin and Whilamina (Schmitz) Blatz. On April 18, 1953, she married Gerald Gross in Fond du Lac. Joyce volunteered her time at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Patrick’s Church, and Broken Bread. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Joyce was a personnel director at Murphy’s until her retirement in 1982. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, dominos, and watching the Milwaukee Brewers.

She is survived by her four children, Bruce Gross of Dunlap, TN, Brenda Krist of Madison, Brian (Roman Berdes) Gross of Suamico, WI, and Barb (Dennis) Winkler of Mt. Calvary; nine grandchildren, William (Lauren Franke) Gross, Amanda (Dayne) Maust, Rebecca (Cameron) Heise, Carrie (Trevin) Labno, Jennifer (Nathan) Brandt, Adam Winkler, Samantha (Nathan Graham) Winkler, Joseph Winkler, and Valentina Winkler; eight great grandchildren, Carter and Ava Brandt, Aiden and Eli Winkler, Stella and Ashton Heise, Royce Labno, and Willamina Graham; sister, Gloria Schumacher; sister-in-law Mary Voris; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents, Edwin and Whilamina; great grandchild, Bennett Brandt; two sisters, Donna (Tom) Webb, and Jean (Dale) Norenberg; brother, John Blatz; sister-in-law, Joyce Iussig; and four brothers-in-law, Bruce and Eugene Boudry, George Preissner, and Gerald Schumacher.

The visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be held in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
