Karen Morris

Karen Morris, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, Illinois to George Morris and June Grebe, Karen spent nearly her entire life in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where she attended elementary and junior high school before graduating from LP Goodrich High School in 1976. That same year she married Mark Morris of Fond du Lac. They spent 50 wonderful years together raising their sons, Mike and Nick. She was overjoyed to eventually become a grandmother after the birth of cherished grandson, Madison. While family was the center of her universe, Karen worked a few years at Georgetown Cleaners. She went on to build a meaningful 40 year career at A.C. Nielsen Company where she was respected not just for her hard work but her genuine kindness towards everyone in her department. After her retirement, she continued to meet up with many co-workers who became dear friends. Karen loved the outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature. She, Mark and the boys spent countless hours sailing and fishing together on Lake Winnebago. As an active member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, she treasured the many friendships of the boating community there. Karen was blessed with an incredible green thumb - bringing life and color into the world through the beautiful flowers in her garden. That artistic talent was likewise evident in her artwork and craft projects. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and going out to dinner with friends. During the winter months, Karen and her family sought the sunshine and good weather at their coastal condo in Port Aransas, TX where she loved walking the sandy beach picking up shells to use in her next art project. She leaves behind a family deeply saddened by her absence but grateful for all the memories they shared together. Karen is survived by her husband, Mark, her loving son, Mike and grandson, Madison; her sisters, Susan Mohoney (Mike) and Kathy Henslin (Jim); mother-in-law Lennora Morris, brother-in-law Al Morris (Julie), and sister-in-law Susan Rosales, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by beloved son, Nick; her parents, father-in-law, Bill and brother-in-law, Steve. Karen faced the sudden onset of her illness with the same quiet grace and immense strength that defined her entire life. She was an inspiration to all of us. Thanks to the wonderful staff at SSM Hospice Home of Hope for making her journey comfortable. A celebration of Karen’s life is planned for a future date. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Though she was taken from us far too soon, her legacy of unconditional love, fierce resilience and devotion to family will endure forever.
