Karen Ann Pitts

Karen Ann Pitts, 80, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, March 2, 2026, at SSM’s Hospice Home of Hope. She was born in Fond du Lac on February 2, 1946, to Aubrey and Lucille (Morgan) Searl. On February 8, 1964, Karen married Lawrence Pitts in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2015.

Karen worked in the kitchen at the Holiday Inn of Fond du Lac for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Karen enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren and rarely declined an opportunity to care for them. She was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan and collected many treasures with his image and music.

She is survived by her three children, Wendy Schraufnagel (Elmer Sippel) of Fond du Lac, Larry (Tammy) Pitts of Eldorado, and Mike (Patty) Pitts of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Joe (Sarah) Pitts, Hayley (Brady) Hein, Nick (Erika) Pitts, Grace Pitts (special friend Zach Shepro), and Bayley Pitts (special friend Cole Mumm); step-grandsons ,Jessie, and Tyler; and three great-grandchildren, Raylan, Hudson, and Madelyn. She is further survived by one brother, Roger (Charmaine) Searl of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Colburn; and brothers Richard, Milo, and Allen Searl.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Dr., in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.
