Laverne M. Papenfuss

LaVerne M. Papenfuss, age 87 formerly of 485 North Hickory Street, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Grancare Nursing Center where she had been a resident since November 2007. She was born in Fond du Lac on October 15, 1920 the daughter of William R. and Hilda A. Rock Lemke. In May 1941 she married John W. Papenfuss, Sr. in Fond du Lac. John preceded her in death on November 2, 1984. LaVerne was a member of Holy Family Parish, enjoyed crafts, knitting and was an avid reader.She is survived by her son John "Jack" Papenfuss, Fond du Lac, two sisters, Alice (Dave) Pittl, Fond du Lac, and Marilyn (Gordon) Zach, Fond du Lac, three brothers, Bill (Joan) Lemke, Fond du Lac, Lloyd (Betty) Lemke, Taycheedah, and Wes (Carol) Lemke, Fond du Lac. Further survived by nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, and a niece preceded her in death.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 3to 6 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue. FUNERAL: A Liturgy of The Word service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the funeral home with Deacon Larry Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
