Lester Schingen

Lester Schingen, age 72, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday August 24, 2026, leaving his tired broken body from years of hard work to be at peace. Les was born on August 21, 1954, in Fond du Lac, the son of Conway “Barney” and Gayle (Miller) Schingen. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1972. On January 22, 1977, he married Nancy Streblow at Salem United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac.

Les enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and turtling. He also liked to cook whether it be at deer camp or Packer parties. Spending hours planning and prepping.

His career started with B&E Seamless Gutters before having his own business, then going to Steenberg Homes, and finally Wrightway Home Improvements until his retirement. Always taking pride in his work.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Robert and Jason Schingen; two grandchildren, Gavin and Olivia; two sisters, Joy Miller and Jill (Gary) Hebard; brother, Jack (Debbie) Schingen; sister-in-law, Diane Thurk; and one niece and many nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Robert and Peggy Streblow; and brother in law, Ralph Thurk.

Per Les’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the FDL County Sheriffs officers, EMT’s and ThedaCare Medical Team. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
