Linda Sue Shady

Linda Sue Shady passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her home. Now she’s in Heaven’s Bingo Hall playing Bingo. She was born April 4, 1957, the daughter of Herbert Sr. and Irene Shady. Linda grew up in the Oakfield and Lamartine areas. Linda worked for Oshkosh B’Gosh and a silk-screening company. She was also a crossing guard for the Fond du Lac School District since October of 2003.

She was an outstanding member of Brothertown Nation Tribe. She was on the counsel for many years. Linda was head of administration and helped members find their family tree histories and took care of tribal membership cards. Linda also volunteered at Bingo, picnics, homecomings, and other fundraisers. She had a heart of GOLD, she always made time for and was extremely generous with all her nieces and nephews for their birthdays and Christmas. On just about any occasion they knew Aunt Linda was bringing something special for them. They loved her dearly. She was the family go to person for all of her knowledge of the family heritage and history.

Linda is survived by her brother, Herb (Jackie) Shady Jr.; sisters, Pattie (Troy George) Shady and Carol (Herman) Kempfer; foster brother, Robbie (Dawn) Lefeber; and special aunt who you could often see them together, Darlene “Giggles” Drew; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Shady.

A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at Brothertown Nation Hall, 311 Winnebago Drive in Fond du Lac.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Linda’s name.
