Louann Simon, 80, of St. Peter, died on Friday, September 13, 2024, at St. Francis Home on the birthday of her late husband Harvey. She was born on October 6, 1943, in Johnsburg, the daughter of Valentine and Marcella (Koenigs) Thome. On October 5, 1963, Louann married Harvey Simon at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. She worked as a secretary at Tolibia Cheese, which later became Saputo Cheese. Louann was a member of Holy Family Parish – St. Peter’s Church, Christian Mothers, and the Malone Area Heritage Museum. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, playing cards, watching the Brewers, exercising with friends at the Aquatic Center, and traveling. She visited all 50 states and traveled to Europe twice.
She is survived by three children, Sharon, Jayne, and Michael (Tammy) Simon; four grandchildren, Brett (Keli), Benjamin, Nicole, and Alexander Simon; six siblings, Roger Thome, Elmer (Lorraine) Thome, Mary (Andrew) Gulig, Joan (Ben) Brenner, Marlys (Lorenzo Fazio) Thome, and Val (Sharon) Thome; two brothers-in-law, Elmer and Dave (Kathy) Simon; sister-in-law, Joanne Thome; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; parents, Valentine and Marcella; two brothers, Ellsworth and Lyle Thome; and three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Thome, Barbara Thome, and Joan Simon.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 9:00 AM – 11:15 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church, St. Peter, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:30 AM with entombment to follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Louann’s name to the Malone Area Hertiage Museum or SSM Health at Home Hospice.
