Luella A. Snyder

Luella A. Snyder, 98, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Woodlands Senior Living. She was born on July 16, 1927, in Wild Rose, WI, the daughter of Edmund and Lydia (Hansel) Rohde. Luella graduated from Markesan High School in 1945. On August 22, 1945, she married Edwin Brown. On March 31, 1967, she married Luther Snyder at Hope Lutheran Church. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was active with her children in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and the Fond du Lac YMCA swim team. A few years after marrying Luther, they moved to North Fond du Lac and transfered to Divine Lutheran Church where she remained an active member. Luella was also a member of American Legion, VFW Auxilaries, and Mercury Marine Silver and Gold Club. She volunteered for the Fond du Lac County Senior Meals Program. Luella enjoyed many years of camping and traveling with her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Teresa Mae Nehring, Dale (Bridget) Pevonka, and John (Joan) Brown; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Lavina Mathos, Lydia Sudduth, and Citana Schwochert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four children, Edwin Jr., James, David, and Michael Brown; son-in-law, Clifford Nehring; daughter-in-law, Jane Brown; two brothers, Elwin and Phillip Rohde; sister, Mable (James) Ziegler; four brothers-in-law, Chris Mathos, Robert Doiel, Earl Sudduth, and John Schwochert.

Funeral services are being planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place.
