Margaret "Midge" Reinke

June 23, 1953 — January 16, 2024

Margaret “Midge” Reinke went to the Lord on January 16, 2024, at St Agnes Hospital surrounded by her family after a long health battle.

Midge was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Robert James Carey and Betty Jane Carey on June 23rd, 1953. She was a graduate of Goodrich High School in 1972 and attended the University of Wisconsin in Fond du Lac.

Midge married the love of her life, Thomas Reinke of North Fond du Lac, on May 13th, 1978. Together, they welcomed three loving children, Wesley, Nathan, and Lucas. They have been happily married for the past 44 years.

Midge had many hobbies in life, one of which was being a master gardener; a hobby that she inherited from her mother. She would spend countless hours in her garden perfecting the beauty she created. She had the gift of being a talented pianist and taught many of her students the art of music. Her artistic talents spanned many realms which Midge used pressing flowers and framing artwork alongside her mother in their work for the family business.

Margaret was a woman who loved unconditionally. She never met a stranger. She loved to tell all the stories of her childhood growing up with her brothers and cousins. Her sons’ friends became kids of her own, lovingly referring to her as “Mimi.” She always offered a warm hug and an open door to all of their shenanigans. She loved to support her boys and their friends in whatever they did. She loved her neighbors as family. The relationships she made with her neighbors became lifelong and were cherished deeply. Midge always put everyone and their needs before herself, and truly cared for every soul she met. Her loss will be felt by all who knew her.

Midge is survived by her husband, Tom Reinke of Fond du Lac, Wesley Reinke of Oregon, WI, Lucas and Abbey (Sena) Reinke of Neenah, WI, Nathan and Amanda (Holzman) Reinke of Brownsville, WI, grandson Jai, brothers Mike “Casey” Carey of Denver, CO, John Carey of Western MN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, brothers Bob Carey and Jim Carey, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
