Mary Anne Mueller, age 96 and 11 months, peacefully completed her journey to meet the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Maple Meadows Assisted Living in Fond du Lac, WI while under the loving care of Preceptor Hospice. Mary Anne was born on June 5, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI, the youngest child of Edward and Rose (Seidl) Reichard. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy at the age of 16. Informed that she was too young to enter St. Mary’s School of Nursing, she became a key punch operator and receptionist for the Weinbrenner Shoe Corporation.
After WWII ended, she met a good looking young Army veteran from North Fond du Lac, Hubert “Hub” Mueller, on a blind date. They married on July 20, 1946, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They moved to Fond du Lac where they raised their four children. Hub and Mary Anne were lifelong members of St. Patrick’s Parish, where she sang in the renowned choir for 60 years. Her faith was a strong guiding light throughout her life. The closing of St. Pat’s in 2005 was an exceedingly sad day for both of them.
After Hub retired, Mary Anne reentered the workforce selling cosmetics and skin care products for Pranges for several years. After retiring from that venture, she became a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital, where she quickly gained a reputation for being an excellent photographer of newborns in the nursery. She loved doing this and was disappointed when her failing eyesight made it impossible for her to continue.
Mary Anne possessed an excellent singing voice and passed her love of music and singing on to her children. She enjoyed sewing, playing Bridge, sharing Friday fish fry dinners with friends, and being a homemaker and mother. In later years she took up golf, due to Hub’s passion for the game and they had a lot of fun playing and taking golfing trips with their friends. She never got very good at it but she sure did try!
Because of Mary Anne’s progressive vision loss, she could not safely live at home alone, so in September 2013, she moved to what is now Maple Meadows Assisted Living. They provided the wonderful care that allowed her to live with grace and dignity for the next 8+ years.
Mary Anne is survived by daughters, Dianne (Hans) Mueller of Eagle River, WI, and Barbara Louis of Phoenixville, PA; son, Edward of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Joshua (Vanessa) Louis, Justin Louis, Marianne Coyne, Anthony and Benjamin Mueller; step grandchildren, John (Linda) Mueller and Jennifer (Dave) Carroll; great granddaughter, Gwendolyn Louis; step great granddaughters, Samantha (Kyle) Merten and Hannah (Tyler) Jicinsky; step great great grandchild, Finley Merten; and several nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hub; daughter, Mary Kay Coyne; grandson, Daniel Coyne; sister, Sr. (Emma) Judella BVM; and brothers and their wives, Tony (Isabelle) Reichard and Al (Marie) Reichard.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and deepest gratitude for the loving care Mary Anne received from the staff of Maple Meadows Assisted Living and the staff of Preceptor Hospice, who compassionately and successfully eased her through her journey. You are all angels indeed and your attention, dedication, and support will be forever remembered.
