Mary T. Began

Mary T. Began, 97, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Brandon, WI, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at St. Francis Home. She was born on October 29, 1928, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Leonard and Mayme (Moran) Pettit. On October 15, 1960, she married Gerald Began at St. Brendan’s Church in Brandon, WI. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish, Fond du Lac.

She is survived by three daughters, Ann (Terry) Thurk of Oshkosh, Brenda (Dan) Vixmer of Fond du Lac, and Barbara (David) Buss of Van Dyne; and four grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) and Nicole Thurk, Brian Vixmer, and Craig Buss. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and four brothers and sisters-in-law.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will occur in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Springvale, WI.
