Mary Catherine White

Mary Catherine White, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 while under hospice care at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. Mary entered this world as Mary Catherine Mitchell on May 17, 1930, the 8th of 9 children born to Frank and Della (Reichelt) Mitchell. She was married to the love of her life, Raymond White, on October 21, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fond du Lac, and was a devoted mother to Susan, James, Barbara, and Michael, and a source of strength and joy for her family and friends.

In addition to raising her family, Mary worked as a salesclerk at Bergers in downtown Fond du Lac, and many will remember her welcoming smile and helpful assistance at St. Agnes Hospital, where she worked for many years and later also volunteered.

Mary is survived by her children, Susan and Michael, both of Fond du Lac, and Barbara (Dan) Mauer of southern California, as well as 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marge Thill. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James, and her daughter-in-law, Laura White.

Per Mary’s wishes there will be no visitation or service held. Cremation has taken place. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband, Raymond, at Calvary Cemetery.
