Melvin O. "Mel" ZitlowMelvin O. "Mel" Zitlow, 81, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where he had been a resident. He was born July 17, 1923, in Fond du Lac, a son of Walter and Mollie Rost Zitlow. Mr. Zitlow was formerly employed by the US Postal Service as a Distribution Clerk, retiring in September of 1985. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church-North Fond du Lac.Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Richard) Guell of Carrollton, TX, Lu Ann Nelson of Fond du Lac, and La Nora (David) Olenick of Boerne, TX, a son, Lowell (Cheryl) Zitlow of Oakfield, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Richard Zitlow of Knowles, WI, and three sisters; Marguerite (Howard) Bahr, his twin, of Fond du Lac, Marjorie Immel of Fond du Lac, and Doris Holterman of Las Vegas, NV. His parents, a daughter, Lois King, and a brother and sister preceded him in death.
