Michael J. Riegert

Michael Joseph Riegert, 64, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

A 1980 graduate of St. Mary’s Springs High School, Mike married Linda Barthuly on August 2, of that same year, and together they built a life full of love. He played hard and worked harder, devoted to his wife and their two sons, Clint and Alex.

Mike had an infectious sense of humor and a gift for lighting up any room with a good joke or a better story. He loved music and cars, and he turned that love into a career, starting in auto bodywork before following in his father’s footsteps as an insurance adjuster at West Bend Mutual. He went on to become a certified arson investigator and closed out his career as an independent contractor in that field.

A faithful member of Church of Peace, Mike played the piano, sang in choir, and taught Sunday school. In the kitchen, he was a force, and he never missed a chance to brag about his legendary chicken parmesan.

All his life, Mike waxed poetic about his dream of living on a beach in Hawaii. May his eternal rest be filled with cerulean seas and white sands.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Clint and Alex; his mother, Carol Riegert; and six siblings: Nicholas, Kathy (Geib), Jennifer (Hutton), Christopher, Martin, and Ann (Salm).

At Mike’s request cremation has taken place.
