Peter J. Stotzheim

November 16, 1928 — March 24, 2024

Peter J. Stotzheim, beloved husband, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 24, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1928, to Peter N. and Marie Wallender Stotzheim in North Fond du Lac.

Peter was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army.

 

In 1971, Peter married, Frances Marie Sauve, and together they shared many wonderful years. Peter dedicated much of his career to Rockwell International in Oshkosh before retiring.

A devout member of Grace Evangelical Free Church, Peter's faith was an integral part of his life. He found solace and community within the congregation, cherishing the fellowship and spiritual guidance offered.

 

Peter had a passion for golf, spending countless hours on the green and imparting his love for the game to his great-grandsons during Saturday morning lessons. He was an active member of numerous golf leagues and found great joy in the camaraderie of fellow golfers.

In addition to his faith and love for golf, Peter had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. He tended to his garden with care. His love for gardening was evident in the beauty and abundance of his harvests.

 

During winters, Peter and Frances would retreat to Tuscan, AZ, and in the summers, they cherished their time in Wisconsin.

Peter is survived by his step-children Michele (Mark) Kreuziger of Texas, Teenya (Chris) LaPorte of North Carolina, Michael (Carolyn) Harper of California, and Craig (Christina) Goodacre of Arizona; two daughters and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter N. and Marie Wallender Stotzheim; brothers Clarence “Al” Stotzheim and Harry A. Stotzheim; sister Lillian Barlow; son James “Jim” Stotzheim (Barb); step-son Frank Harper; and his wife Frances Stotzheim.

Peter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering faith and passion for spreading the word of God will forever be cherished.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Peter's life will be held at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 163 E. 18th St, Fond du Lac, WI, on Saturday, June 1st , 2024, at 10:00 AM.  Cremation has already taken place.
