Richard D. Marx died Thursday, September 23, 2004 in Kaysville, UT at the age of 74. Richard was born December 17, 1929 in Eden,WI. He was educated at St. Joseph's School in Fond du Lac and graduated from North Fond du Lac High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1955 in both Korea and Japan. He was discharged at the rank of Sergeant.Dick was employed by Ericksen Electric, Westburg Buick, Bill's Sport Shop, Frontier Sporting Goods in Alaska, and was the founder of Midwestern Shooter's Supply with Lee Schmidt as his partner. He sold out his half of the business in 1995 in retired to Kaysville, UT to be with his two children. Dick was an active trap shooter and member of the ATA. He won numerous trophies and was instrumental in passing along his love of shooting to his daughter, Heidi. She has carried on his love for the sport, winning numerous titles and trophies in Utah. He is survived by his ex-wife; Sandy, his son; Jerome, and his daughter; Heidi. He is also survived by three sisters, Marian Leonhardt and Marjorie Hoffman of Fond du Lac, Myrtle (James) Hawley of Florida, and two brothers; James (Dolores) Marx and Tom (Carol) Marx of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his father; Lawrence T. Marx, his mother; Esther B. (Kroll) Marx, and one brother, Jerome.



Dick was cremated in Kaysville, UT and his remains will be brought to Fond du Lac for burial at Calvary Cemetery. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 9:30 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Victor Capriolo officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 8:30 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
