Richard G. “Cat” Holzman, 84, a lifetime resident of Fond du Lac, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at his residence. He was born January 20, 1931, in Fond du Lac, the son of George and Clara Scilowsky Holzman. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On September 13, 1958, he married Marjorie A. Running in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2005. He and his wife had a passionate love for dancing and jazz music. Richard was formerly employed by Mercury Marine for 40 years as an assembler before his retirement in 1992, and enjoyed exchanging stories with his former co-workers and anyone who would listen about working at Merc. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270, enjoyed building model train boards with his great-grandson, Jai, going out for breakfast for over 20 years with his very good friend, Ray, and was a Friday night fixture at Petrie’s Restaurant.
Surviving are his two sons, Tim (Jody) Holzman and Steven (Rhonda) Holzman, both of Fond dud Lac, three grandchildren, Amanda (Nate) Reinke, Andy and Noah Holzman, and a great-grandson, Jai. He is further survived by three sisters, Lorraine Roesler and Liz Spang, both of Fond du Lac, and Judy Warner of North Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Evelyn Kern and Marion Halfman.
Visitation for Richard G. Holzman will be on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 4 to 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 6 PM at the funeral home.
