After a long and fulfilling life, Robert “Bob” Stacey Rundle passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2026, at age 79, with family by his side. Bob was born on June 19, 1947, in Janesville, WI. Bob was the younger of two sons born to Thurza (Stacey) and Curt Rundle. As a child he moved to rural Dodgeville on his family farm. Bob attended the Bunker Hill One Room School House until 6th grade when he then attended Dodgeville Schools. Bob attended Dodgeville High School where he had an amazing athletic career and was later inducted into the DHS Hall of Fame twice. Bob also met the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Kathleen (Kathy) Hamilton. They were married on August 24, 1968, and raised three children, Robin, Amanda and Ryan.
Bob attended UW-Lacrosse where he played football and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Parks & Recreation. He later received a Masters Degree in Administrative Leadership from UW-Milwaukee.
Beginning as a youngster and throughout his lifetime, sports and recreation was the theme of his life. Bob played, coached, and officiated countless amounts of games. His 40-year career in Parks & Recreation allowed him to serve the communities of Madison, LaCrosse, Menomonee Falls, Brown Deer, Greendale, and finally Fond du Lac. Bob loved his job and the communities he worked and lived in. He had been an active member of the WPRA where he served as the President for two terms and participated on numerous community boards.
His hobbies included golf, playing cards, taking road trips, and obsessing about semi-trucks. Bob considered himself Dodgeville sports and UW-Lacrosse’s number one fan. Bob had the love of knowledge and the ability to answer any question whether he knew the answer or not.
