Roman C. Grasse, age 81 of 526 Windsor Court, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where he had been a resident for the past two weeks. Roman was born in Wisconsin on October 23,1925. On August 9, 1947 he married Phyllis P. Bruggink. Phyllis preceded him in death on September 20, 2004. Roman worked at the Sheboygan Chair Factory, was a custodian with Cedar Grove High School, and later worked for Mercury Marine for 25 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts, flower gardening, shopping, birds, traveling, sightseeing and being with his family.He is survived by three daughters, Linda (Glenn) Ubbelohde, Plymouth, Susan (John) Ernster, Cedarburg, Deborah Miller, Fond du Lac, one son, Gary (Lori) Grasse, Fond du Lac, nine grandchildren, Gina, Jaime, Nicholas, Jennifer, Todd, Christopher, Peter, Jason, and Gregory, two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Briana.He is further survived by a sister, Dorothy Turke, Wauwatosa and one brother, Oliver (Judy) Grasse, Orlando, Florida. Roman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson Ryan Ubbelohde, and infant twin grandsons, Jeff and Bradley Grasse, three brothers, Rueben, Roland, and Ewald, and a sister, Sally Poppe.
