Rosalie Tryon Barber passed away on March 7th at age 87. Rosalie was born on November 13, 1927 in Chicago to Michael and Pearl Maslowski. Rosalie married Dale Tryon in 1948. She has four sons from her first marriage (Lee, Ken, Mark and Tom). On December 14, 1985, she married Dale Barber who taught her the joys of fishing and extended her card playing prowess. Rosalie was a member of Grace Reformed Church in Fond du Lac and is eternally grateful for the saving grace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rosalie loved to paint, fish, play cards and spend time with family and friends. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Illinois College, which is where she met Dale Tryon. Shortly after college, she owned and operated an employment agency in Chicago. In 1966, she founded and served as the Executive Director of ADVOCAP, an organization whose mission is to create opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency.
She is predeceased by her parents, Dale Tryon, sister Eleanor, brother Norb and beloved husband Dale Barber. She is survived by 4 sons: Lee (Georgann) Tryon, Ken (Sandy) Tryon, Mark (Maylean) Tryon and Tom (Donna) Tryon and 3 step-children: Phyllis (Brian) Smith, Donna Funk and Jeff (Judy) Barber, her sister Betty Reznicek as well as 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2:00-5:00 on Thursday, March 12 at Grace Reformed Church in Fond du Lac with the funeral service at 5:00 followed by a meal at Grace Reformed.
Memorials may be directed to the Fond du Lac Salvation Army.
