Sandra E. “Sandy” Macias

Sandra E. “Sandy” Macias, 61, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. She was born in Fond du Lac on December 9, 1964, to Salvador and Angelina (Hernandez) Macias.

Sandy was a light in the lives of those who knew her—the kind of person who could lift your spirits when you were down, and whose smile could brighten even the darkest of days. Her heart was open to everyone, and she never needed a reason to show kindness.

She found joy in caring for others. Her family, friends, and neighbors were all recipients of her generous spirit. She was the person who might show up at a neighbor’s door with a fresh loaf of bread, simply because she thought they might enjoy it. Each morning, she would step outside to feed the birds, finding beauty and happiness in the simple rhythms of everyday life.

Sandy had a particularly tender heart for children and the elderly. Caring for others was more than a job to her—it was a calling. For many years, she devoted herself to that calling as a dedicated CNA and a loving nanny, offering comfort, patience, laughter, and love to those in her care.

And though she spent so much of her life caring for others, Sandy never lost the child within herself. “A child at heart,” she would say—and she truly was. She saw wonder in the little things, found joy in simple moments, and carried a sweetness that made the world around her feel a little brighter.

Survivors include her two children, Ashly (Steven), and Brandon; siblings, Jaime, Maria, and Martha (Jon); two grandchildren, Ethan and Izabella; and her significant other, Nick Faymoville. Sandra also leaves behind many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy not measured in accomplishments, but in the lives she touched, the hearts she comforted, and the countless small acts of kindness she gave so freely. Her smile, her gentle spirit, and her loving heart will remain in the memories of all who knew her.

She was a gift to this world, and she will be deeply missed.
