Scott Ransom Bond, 58, affectionately known as "Scotty" by close friends and family, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on December 5, 1967, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Scott lived a life marked by passion, dedication, and humor that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A graduate of Goodrich High School in 1986, Scott pursued his love for media at the University of Oshkosh, earning a degree in TV, Radio, and Film in 1993. He began his career in radio broadcasting at stations in Fond du Lac, Ripon, and Waupun. Among his many roles, Promotions Director and sales, his favorite was hosting TCX at night at WTCX in Fond du Lac. His distinctive voice and vibrant personality endeared him to listeners.
After leaving broadcasting, Scott briefly worked at Quad Graphics before embarking on a new career as a Conductor with the Wisconsin Central railroad. During his time there, he heroically stopped a rogue tank car but sustained an injury that led him to transition into light-duty work. He later pursued further education at Moraine Park Technical College, studying Computer Programming. Over the next two decades, Scott thrived as a Senior Software Engineer at Nielsen, excelling in programming and database development.
On October 8, 1994, Scott married Christine Bond. Together they built a loving family with their three children: Samuel, Gabrielle, and Jonas. Family was Scott's greatest joy; he especially cherished their annual trips to Southern California.
Scott is survived by his wife Christine; children Samuel, Gabrielle, and Jonas; sister Sandra (Sandy) Thurke; brother Hiram Bond III and wife Nancy; and nephews Tyler, Timothy, and Matthew Thurke. He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram Bond II and Genevieve Bond; brother-in-law Dan Thurke; and niece Janelle Vines.
