Shonna Lee Oie

June 14, 1978 — October 11, 2025

North Fond du Lac

With hearts full of love and deep sadness, we share that Shonna Lee Oie, age 47, of North Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Shonna was born on June 14, 1978, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Mervin Nehmer and Deborah Stroede. She grew up in Fond du Lac and the surrounding communities, where she built a lifetime of memories and lasting friendships.

Shonna’s family grew throughout her life in a way that reflected the love that surrounded her. When her father, Merv, moved to South Dakota, she was blessed with two brothers, Jeff and Jeremy, and two sisters, Denise and Amanda, along with their mother Linda. Her mother, Debbie, later married Frank “Chip” Sontag, and Shonna welcomed another brother, Sean, into her life.

In 1995, fate brought Shonna and Kenneth Oie together. Their love blossomed quickly, and they married in April 2000. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Their children—Cameron (2000), Victoria (2004), Ella (2005), and Olivia (2010)—were the light of Shonna’s world. In 2004, Ken and Shonna purchased their home in North Fond du Lac, where they raised their family with warmth, laughter, and open doors for all.

Shonna was determined and hardworking, earning her associate degree with honors from Moraine Park Technical College in 2014. But more than any professional accomplishment, her greatest joy came from being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.

She had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Shonna opened her heart not only to her loved ones but also to her children’s friends, creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She loved nature—especially the crisp beauty of autumn and the new blooms of spring. Whether she was tending her garden, exploring parks, or enjoying a day at the beach, Shonna found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life.

Her faith was a cornerstone of who she was. She loved God deeply and shared that love openly, offering comfort and encouragement to those around her. She delighted in bonfires, fireworks, and cheering on her children in every activity they pursued.

Shonna is preceded in death by her parents, Merv and Debbie. She is survived by her loving husband Ken; their children Cameron (Veronica Thrall), Victoria, Ella (Mason Matezevich), and Olivia; brothers Jeff (Sharlee) Nehmer, Jeremy Nehmer, Sean (Jenell) Sontag; sisters Denise (Tony) Reed and Amanda (Dylan Clites) Nehmer; and Chip Sontag. She is also survived by her cherished in-laws Michele (Christopher), KariAnn, Mark (Kerre), Kristine, and Ken Sr. and Mary Ann Oie. Her love lives on through her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends including Carrie, Tisha, Angela, Autumn, Ron, Josh, TR, and their families, and all those whose lives she touched.

Shonna will be remembered for her radiant smile, her infectious laugh, her kind and generous heart, her sharp wit, and just the right touch of feistiness that made her unforgettable. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a Time of Remembrance on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Esterbrook Cemetery.

Shonna’s life was a beautiful testament to love, family, faith, and joy. Though she is no longer with us, her light will continue to shine brightly in all who knew and loved her.
