Steven Walker

Steven Walker, age 71, died on September 30, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Dementia as the result of a series of Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Steve was born on October 30,1954 to Gordon and Betty (Erdmann) Walker in Janesville, WI. He graduated from Janesville Craig Highschool in 1972.

Steve was employed with Alliant Energy shortly after graduation until he retired in 2011.

On July 17, 1999, he married Christine Bender. Upon retirement, they resided in Phelps, WI until returning to Fond du Lac in 2023.

Steve enjoyed all things outdoors – hunting, fishing, yardwork and hiking in the woods. He loved spending time at the cabin and spending winters in Florida.

One of his greatest joys was bird hunting with his beloved English Cocker’s – Gus and Otis.

Steve is survived by his wife; brother, Gary Walker; sister, Beth Walker; mother-in-law, Sharon Bender; sisters-in-law, Tammy (Bryan) Christopherson, Sue (Tim) Huettl, Stephanie (Tim) Krupp, Tracy Chartier; daughter, Stacy Driscoll; two granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Samuel Bender.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Frontida - Liberty House and the many wonderful friends that provided endless love and support throughout this difficult journey.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 noon at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow the service at Rienzi Cemetery.
