Stuart J. Blau

Stuart J. Blau, 87, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on March 1, 1937, the son of John and Mabel (Nickerson) Blau. Stuart proudly served in the United States Air Force for 24 years. On August 17, 1957, he married Gertude LaPine in Fond du Lac. Stu and Gertrude traveled the world while he was in the Air Force. His last assignment was at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi where he taught air traffic control to officers. He earned a master’s degree in education from Southern Mississippi University. After retirement in 1978, he then became a high school teacher for 16 years, retiring in 1996. Stu liked to fish, golf, and was a model railroad enthusiast. He also enjoyed spending time traveling back to Mississippi with his wife on vacation, as well as time with his family.  

He is survived by five children, Anjulette (Steven) Ertel, Michael, Jeffrey, Patricia (Terrence) Christ, and Jennifer (Adrian) Gonzalez; seven grandchildren, Brian (Rachelle) Blau, Sandra (Anthony) Priesgen, Sara Ertel (special friend, Antonio Rivera), Kimberly Cody (special friend, Anthony Brooks), Matthew (Kate) Blau, Daniel (Brittany) Christ, and John Blau; and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel; wife, Gertrude; brother, Daryl Blau; sister, Bonnie Steffen; and granddaughter, Christina Marie Cox.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
