Thomas Russell Ryan, 85, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at St. Francis Home. He was born March 10, 1941 in Waupun the son of Dennis and Thelma (Jagdfeld) Ryan. He graduated from Oakfield High School Class of 1959. Tom married Dulsie Eleanor Ihm on August 5, 1961 in Kieler, WI and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2018.
Tom owned and operated Ryan Plumbing & Heating in Oakfield and later St. Germain. After moving to St. Germain, he owned Ryan’s Last Resort. He was a past member of the Oakfield Lions Club and Oakfield Conservation Club. He was an avid sportsman, loved bear hunting, and was always buying old homes and making them new, before flipping homes was a thing.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Ryan, Les (Alyona) Ryan, Russ (Wendy) Ryan, Deb (Dan) Walsh, and Gina (Jeff) Steinke; grandchildren, Thomas (Brigette) Ryan, Shane (Laura Burt) Ryan, Jeremy Ryan, Emily (Mike Gruesser) Ryan, Hannah Ryan, Leah (Kyle) Kollmansberger, Maria (Sam) Wesley, Ryan Walsh, Samantha Steinke, Olivia Steinke, and Jessica Steinke; great grandchildren, Aleena, Parker, and Carter Ryan, Hudsyn Ryan, Maliah and Gianna Gruesser, Laikyn, Kamden, Karson, and Kasen Kollmansberger, Easton and Charlie Wesley, Sadie and Ellie Ryan; sister-in-law, Mary Bierne; his beloved Golden Retriever, “Two”; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Dulsie Ihm; his beautiful and loving wife, Dulsie; daughter-in-law, Audrey Ryan; brother, Leroy Bierne; and sister, Patricia (Dave) Volbright.
At Tom’s request cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Tom had a heart of gold, a larger than life man with the greatest belly laugh. He worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He will be dearly missed.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Aspirus Hospital in Minocqua and Rhinelander, Friendly Village in Rhinelander, and St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac for the care and compassion shown to Tom and his family.
