Verena M. (Schoenborn) Bennett

Verena M. (Schoenborn) Bennett, 86, of Chilton, died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein. She was born March 1, 1936 in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha (Krebsbach) Schoenborn. Verena graduated from New Holstein High School in 1954. On July 7, 1984 she married H. James Bennett in Las Vegas and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1987.



Verena worked for Tolibia Cheese until her retirement. She played accordion for the polka band, The Five E’s until 1987. She was a past member the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marytown and was a current member of Holy Family Parish. Verena enjoyed traveling, polka music, gardening, casino bus trips, All-Star Wrestling, and loved spending time with her family.



She is survived by her fiancé, Melvin “Putz” Lisowe; a nephew, Randy (Doris) Schoenborn of Plymouth and their children, Alexis (Mitch) Rollow, Zachary, Hunter, Eugene-Jacob, and Saylor; a niece, Sandy (Rich) Nordell of Reeds, MO and their children, Tiffany, Devon, and Allysa. She is further survived by Melvin’s children, Donald (Nancy) Lisowe, Ronald Lisowe, Arthur (Karen) Lisowe, Ralph Lisowe, Kevin (Melissa) Lisowe, and Joan (Thomas) Walber and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Roger (Joyce) Schoenborn.



The visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac. Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery.
