Vicki L. (Rubey, Karch) Schneider

July 6, 1961 — February 25, 2022

Vicki Lynn Schneider, 60, of Fond du Lac, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Scleroderma. Vicki was born in Stevens Point, WI on July 6, 1961, a daughter of Kenneth and Lila (Parker) Rubey. On January 10, 2007, she married Roque “Rocky” Schneider in Nassau, Bahamas.

Vicki was employed at the Village of Little Chute from which she retired due to her failing health in 2014. Prior to that she was employed at the Steven’s Point Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Vicki began her career with the Village of Little Chute in 1995 serving in the Finance Dept. followed by the position of Deputy Village Clerk and appointed to Village Clerk in 2005. She enjoyed her career with the Village and serving the citizens of Little Chute. Vicki graduated from the UWGB Clerks program and was designated as a Professional Municipal Clerk by the Wisconsin Municipal Clerk's Association and by the International Institute of Professional Clerks. She served on the Board of Directors of the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival, Little Chute Windmill, Inc., Kermis Festival, Fox Cities Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Vicki was a member of the Little Chute Centennial Committee, Little Chute Kiwanis Club, First United Methodist Church in Hartford, WI, and was an assistant to the Garden Club and LC Historical Society. She volunteered for many non-profit events.

Vicki enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to travel, taking many trips with her “Rock” to places near and far away, favorites being anywhere near the ocean. Vicki loved being on the back of the Harley with her hubby and riding with friends normally for fundraising events. She loved gardening, decorating, reading, socializing with family/friends and camping. The most important part of Vicki’s life was spending time with her family. And of course, she loved her fur babies.

Vicki is survived by her husband and soul mate, Roque; two children, Brian (Laura) Karch and Sarah (Mike) Kortz; three stepchildren, Laura (Ryan) Dahlberg, Tony Schneider, and Brittany Schneider (fiancé Cody Oleson); her eight grandchildren, Carson, Sylas, Aedan, Madelyn, James, Lennon, Wrynn, and Sullivan; and three siblings, Roxanne (Gerald) Omernik, Greg (Jane) Rubey, and Kelly (Earl) Hintz. She is further survived by the Schneider family, Ron (Mary) Schneider, Jackie Deanovich, Jan (Ken) Nett, Jerolyn Carter, Russel (Jeannie) Schneider, Rory (Reine) Schneider, Julie (William) Sparks, Joelene Broennimann, and Rodger (Jean) Schneider; as well as many nieces and nephews, including a special niece/sister, Brenda (Rick) Theilig. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, aunts, and uncles; Roque's parents, Norbert, and Evelyn Schneider; two brothers-in-law, Rick Schneider, and Randy Schneider; a sister-in-law, Joy Nett; and two of Randy’s brothers-in-law, William Carter, and Paul Deanovich.

It was Vicki’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, Valley Cats and Kitten Rescue, OARS animal rescue, Saving Sully organization, Little Chute Windmill, Inc., or a humane society of your choice.
