Virginia M. Nettesheim

Virginia M. Nettesheim, 99, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at The Meadows of Fond du Lac. She was born November 11, 1923 in Milwaukee, the daughter of George and Mildred (Hess) Dick. On March 11, 1945 she married R. Daniel Nettesheim in Waukesha, and he preceded her in death. Virginia attended University of Wisconsin. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Virginia loved the theater and drama. She was active in Brookfield Players and started Raggedy Ann Club, a children’s theater group in New Berlin. She also enjoyed genealogy, quilting, needle point, traveling, and most of all she loved being with her family. Her family continues to gather for one week each year at The Rushes in Door County, a tradition started by Virginia and her late husband.

She is survived by four children, Daniel (Betty) Nettesheim of New Berlin, Richard (Kris) Nettesheim of Alpine, UT, Heidi (Norb) Schmidt of Fond du Lac, and Mark (Kari) Nettesheim of Chaska, MN; 22 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sue Dick of Hudson, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jeff Nettesheim; and brother, Richard Dick.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 347 South Country Lane, Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at church. Private entombment will be held in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
