Walter “Daffy” E. Braford, 72, of Van Dyne, passed away in his home on April 12, 2022, after a hard battle with cancer. He was born on October 16, 1949, the son of George and Bernice (Weidner) Braford in Yuma, AZ. He moved to Wisconsin in 1961 to live with his uncle Jim. Walter served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973.
He was married to Karen Bacon from 1974 to 1984. They have two children together. In 1985, he married Jane Turnblom. The two shared one daughter together. He drove semi for Sadoff Iron 25 years in which he retired in 2013. He enjoyed working in the garage on vehicles, fishing, and spending time with grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jane of Van Dyne; three children, George (Amy) Braford of Mt. Calvary, Becke (Ron) Barnett of Henryetta, OK, and Jennifer (Christopher) Schwartz of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren, Zachary, Thaddeus (Brooke), Riley (Shaylee), Conner (Jordan), Bryce, Bridgette, Layla, Odessa, Aiyana, and Cameron; two foster children, Greg (Terrainna) Frey and Michele (Paul) Heinemann; two sisters; and one brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bernice; one brother, Benton; his father and mother-in-law; and two grandchildren.
The visitation will be held on April 19, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac, 54937. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
